KSPPA BREAKS GROUND FOR THE
NEW ASSOCIATION HEADQUARTERS/MUSEUM

On September 9, 2005, the Kentucky State Police Professional Association officially broke ground on the new Association Headquarters and Museum. Former Governor/Senator Julian Carroll was the featured speaker. Senator Carroll spoke proudly of the rich heritage and tradition of the Kentucky State Police. The museum will honor the proud past of the Agency and exemplify why the Kentucky State Police continues to be the premier law enforcement agency in the nation. Included in the new building will be:
- A 1,400 square foot Safety Town which will provide safety education to various school and civic groups for all ages. The Safety Town will also feature a 180 degree driving simulator and reaction firearms simulator.
- A Members Lounge: This area will be a place where members of the Association can spend time relaxing, eating, watching television, etc. Equipped with high-speed internet access, sworn members can catch up on paperwork in a relaxed environment.
- A Memorial Room and Chapel: This area will provide a sanctuary for quiet time to reflect on personal issues and to honor those members of the agency who have given the ultimate sacrifice.
- An enlarged Trooper Island Gift Shop which will continue to provide items available for purchase.
- Conference room and meeting space.
- A 1,800 square foot museum that will honor the proud tradition of the Kentucky State Police.
The Headquarters is located on 633 Chamberlin Avenue, Prevention Park, Frankfort, KY (behind the hospital, near Interstate 64). We are extremely excited about this venture. We anticipate completion by March 15, 2006. Stop by and take a look when you are in Frankfort.
